Officials from Hendricks County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to mark the opening of Phase 1A of the Ronald Reagan Parkway extension.

Hendricks county and brownsburg dignitaries cut the ribbon to celebrate the Ronald Reagan parkway extension phase 1a.
The new roadway, located between 56th Street and E. CR 750 N. in Brownsburg, aims to improve both regional and local mobility by providing better access for Hendricks and Boone County residents, linking existing roadways, and promoting future economic development.
Phase 1A adds just over 1.5 miles to the existing parkway and features a bridge spanning the CSX railroad tracks. The roadway includes four 12-foot-wide travel lanes and a 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the east side, accommodating both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Brownsburg and INDOT officials and county partners joined in the celebration to mark the parkway’s official opening.

"With better connectivity and mobility, this project opens doors for new businesses, job opportunities, and economic development,” said Brownsburg Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. “It’s an investment in the future prosperity of Brownsburg and Hendricks County."
Bids for Phase 1B of the Ronald Reagan Parkway, extending the roadway from CR 750 N. to CR 1000 N., were approved by the Hendricks County Commissioners in November. Construction on the next phase is anticipated to begin in winter 2025.
"We look forward to the time with this roadway will go from I-70 in Hendricks County to I-65 in Boone County," said Hendricks County Commissioner Dennis Dawes.
